The Right and Reason to Bear Arms

A man who wields a sword but keeps it sheathed is a man with Godly wisdom.

If you were to ask any of us Gen X parents (or older) what we would do for our children, our response would be 'anything'. We wouldn't hesitate. If we were forced to, we would easily kill for our kids. That is what love is.

Recently I saw an interview with a group of young moms. The host asked them if they would kill for their children and not one said yes. Infact a couple of them said they would never break a law for them. I believe that these moms love their kids but this is very harmful thinking.

The way these moms think is a direct result of living in a very privileged society. They are a generation that has barely been tested and has lived in an overflow of privilege but they've also lived in a society where God has been removed as the foundation of their lives and therefore government has been put in God's place. These young women couldn't even conceptualize the idea of having to go against the will of their government.

Older generations and immigrants from less fortunate countries understand that government is not something you can put your faith in but because of a lack of first hand experience, many in our society don't understand the danger of mindless servitude.

This is why many are so adamant about their right to bear arms, Christians included.

There are endless, virtue signaling liberals who hate the idea of people owning guns but they don't realize that they are the ones who will need the most protecting if the government turns on it's people. We know that we can't fight the entire government with a 9 millimeter but we can at least protect our family in our own home if they come for us.

Many believe this is a laughable conspiracy theory and maybe they're right, maybe it will never happen but here are some things that have happened in recent history that very few know about...

In Australia, they were forced to give up their guns. The government collected 640 thousand guns from willing citizens and in the next 12 months homicide was up 3.2%, assault was up 8.6%, and armed robberies went up 44%. Of course it wasn't the government robbing and killing so how about other countries? In 1911 Turkey implemented gun control. Then, because they were unable to defend themselves, 1.5 million Armenians were killed. In 1929 the Soviet Union implemented gun control and over the next 30 years 20 million dissidents, including Christians were slaughtered. In 1938 the Nazis declared Jews are no longer allowed to own weapons or ammunition and... we all know how that played out.

The Bible is clear on the structure of authority within a family. God, father, mother, children. Government is not a part of that authority. They are an authority outside the family structure but are secondary to that family. Therefore, the family is to be protected before and against government. It's not something that has been necessary in the West because our countries were built on Biblical morality but as God is removed more and more from our society, we're seeing government behavior much closer to the evils of Hitler, Stalin and Mao.

I named my blog site 'The Christian Dissidents' because I believe we are reaching a time in our history when we will need to fly in the face of government, society and popular opinion. We are going to be hated more and more as Christians and if we don't stand in the face of evil, we as Christians will cease to exist.

I hope we never have to resort to violence to protect ourselves and our family but I know for a fact that being prepared for that possibility is my responsibility as a father and a man of God.

A man who wields a sword but keeps it sheathed is a man with Godly wisdom. In the meantime we as Christians pray that our government and our country will put God in his rightful place at the center of society.

About Me

Music is my life, but in order to have something worth writing about, it could be argued that you must first live a big life.

I'd like to think I've lived the best I could in my forty two years. I'd also like to believe I've absorbed a little wisdom along the way. On the other hand, I could be completely wrong.

Either way I thought I would write down some ideas and maybe they'd find an eye or two and spark some conversation.

The topics are not based only on music but have had influence on my songwriting to one degree or another.

I hope you enjoy

Sincerely

Justin
