Standing against evil no matter how few see it, is exactly what it means to be a 'Christian Dissident'.

We as Canadians are becoming much more "unified" on the idea that our country needs change. It's no secret that Canada is sliding down a very slippery slope and the vast majority of us are sliding, uncontrollably, along with our embarrassment of a government.

It's very common for the peacemakers in our society to scream for unity when the unrest of division gets it's claws in us. It seems like there's a new thing dividing us into groups every other day. Most of that is by design but regardless of it's source, the division is real and often very dangerous.

There are popular Bible verses that are quoted and usually drastically misused when these issues arise. 'Turn the other cheek'. 'Judge not lest ye be judged'... It all sounds very convenient if you believe the commonly believed misuse of these words but unfortunately, we as Christians are not called to sit back, keep the peace and stay complacent.

Unity sounds like a great thing but it's the foundation of a misguided view of utopia. The problem is, during the courageous, and virtuous calls for unity, it's very seldom that anyone talks about what they want to unify around. Some who scream for unity will refuse to unify unless it's around the idea that men can become women and vice versa. Others will only unify if you believe that belief in a different God should be cause for your death.

In our current time, there are a lot of people agreeing to unify around ideas that they know are not true. The vast majority of people know that a man cannot give birth but a very large portion of our population continue to say they can. Why? Because they've been bullied into unity which, of course isn't actually unity.

There are others who go with the current slogans because they believe it doesn't hurt anyone. Most who have kids understand that there is absolutely harm being done. Telling a young boy that he's sexist, racist, a bigot, and a misogynist just because he exists is very harmful. You can see the result of that harm playing out in all of the weak, lonely young men with no ambition these days. Why would they act on their ambition when any success they have is considered "toxic masculinity"?

Even God's church is divided a million ways. There are more denominations than ever within God's church and while it does make sense to have different church options, we need to stay unified in our love of Christ.

We are not called as Christians to keep the peace and "unify" with the community around us no matter what's going on. If our communities are acting out evil, it is our job to fly in the face of it. We can be kind and peaceful in our stance but our stance must be defined and strong.

Standing against evil no matter how few see it, is exactly what it means to be a 'Christian Dissident'.

About Me

Music is my life, but in order to have something worth writing about, it could be argued that you must first live a big life.

I'd like to think I've lived the best I could in my forty two years. I'd also like to believe I've absorbed a little wisdom along the way. On the other hand, I could be completely wrong.

Either way I thought I would write down some ideas and maybe they'd find an eye or two and spark some conversation.

The topics are not based only on music but have had influence on my songwriting to one degree or another.

I hope you enjoy

Sincerely

Justin
